The embossed mould mark ”WEST-GERMANY” can be found with labels from ca. 1959 - ca. 1972.
The mark has the square "A" and in most cases a very distinct curved "Y". One form, 571, has a "straight "Y".
Formnumber and size comes in threeformats; XXX-XX, XXX over XX and XXX over XX.
The base mark is rare with the graphic Bay crown label used 1967-1972 so it was probably only used until the end of the 60s.

ca. 1959 - ca. 1989
The embossed mould mark ”W.-GERMANY” was used during a long period and can be found with the labels used from ca. 1959 - ca. 1997.
Base mark with the square "A" and the curvy "Y" can be found with the labels used until 1972 and was also used some years with the last "BAY* KERAMIK" label.
Base marks with a pointed "A" and a slanted, narrow "Y" was introduced during the period ca. 1973 - ca. 1978.
Around 1979 a font with a slanted, wide "Y" began to be used. This font is documented on a partnership-present 1979 (a solitaire board game). This font was probably used until the reunion of Germany 1990.
Formnumber and size was in the format XXX-XX between ca. 1959 until ca, 1972. From 1967 until 1989 it was also in the format XXX XX.

XX
ca. 1962 – ca. 1978
The embossed mould mark "BAY W.-GERMANY” comes with the labels used from ca. 1959 - 1997.
This base mark has always the square "A" and the curved "Y" until ca. 1973. During ca. 1973-1978 several base marks with a mix of square/pointed "A" and narrow "Y" were used. Some base marks have the wide "Y" that was introduced ca. 1979. My guess is that these base marks should have had the star (*) but it is missing by misstake.
The form and size number was in the format XXX-XX until ca. 1972. From ca. 1967 it was also in the format XXX XX.
The form and size number in the format XXX over XX was also rarely used in the late 60s early 70s.

This base mark in a handwrite style was only used in a series of five vases with the form and size numbers 71 17, 71 35, 70 14, 70 25 and 70 45. This series was a part of the "Töpfermeister Kollektion" that was presented ca. 1969.
The floore vase 70 45 has a slightly changed style of the handwriting compared to the other four. The vase 70 20 also belong to this series but has not this handwriting style base mark.
This series of vases are most common with the "red vax seal" label and the "TÖPFERMEISTER" label but can also be fond with the smaller "BAY" label.

BAY* W.-GERMANY
XXX XX
ca. 1973 - 1997
The embossed mould mark "BAY* W.-GERMANY” can be found with the labels used from ca. 1973 - 1997. The base mark has the same logo as on the label for this period with a slanted "Y" and the symbol of a star or a flower. Hovewer, during the period ca. 1973-1978 the base marks are not exactly the same as on the label. The base marks have usually a more narrow "Y" than the label. During this period several base marks with a mix of square/pointed "A" and narrow "Y" were used.
Around 1979 a font with a slanted, wide "Y" began to be used. This font is documented on a partnership-present 1979 (a solitaire board game). This font was probably used until the reunion of Germany 1990.
The form and size number is always in the format XXX XX with this base mark.

XXX XX
ca. 1990
There are a few vases known with the last label and the base mark "GERMANY". The font has the wide "Y" and form and size is always in the format XXX XX. It is most likely that these vases were produced after the reunion of Germany 1990. Since the number of forms are very limited the production of art ceramics probably ceased in the early 90s.
