Scheurich & Greulich Labels 1948 - 1953
”Scheurich & Greulich” was the original name of the company that started the ceramic production1948. The company used labels with the text ”S&G Keramik” that comes in two versions. These labels were used until Alois Scheurich founded Scheurich Keramik KG 1954 and continued the ceramic production on his own.
The oldest pieces are marked ”GERMANY” and the label that comes with this mark is ”S&G Keramik with a large hook on both ”K” in ”Keramik”. This label is rare and is only known in two colours, silver with black text and gold with black text. A label with "S&G Keramik with a small hook on both "K" is found on a wider range of items and comes also with pieces marked "FOREIGN". It comes in four colours, silver with black text, gold with black text, silver with red text and gold with red text. There are no information about when the company made the small change in the label.
Scheurich & Greulich Labels 1954 - 1968
1954 continued Alois Scheurich the ceramic production on his own and founded Scheurich Keramikfabrik KG. The old company Scheurich and Greulich continued the wholesale business until 1968 when Alois Scheurich died (Dieterle 2008). Ceramics made by Scheurich can also be found with a "S&G" label. Since the Scheurich and Greulich wholesale business continued they probably also sold Scheurich ceramics under their own name with a new label. This label has only the initials S&G. This can be the explanation why ”S&G” and ”Scheurich” labels can be found on pieces of the same form.
It is not known if Scheurich and Greulich continued to sell Scheurich ceramics with their own label until the company ceased 1968. In 1955 Heinz Siery was employed by Scheurich and ceramics designed by Heinz Siery can be found with both "Scheurich" and "S&G" labels. The form 271 22 by Heinz Siery from 1959 can be found with the "S&G" label which date the use of the "S&G" label at least until 1959.
The "S&G label" comes in four colours, silver with black text, gold with black text, silver with red text and gold with red text.
According to Dieterle (2008) the "S&G" label was the first label the company used prior to the "S&G Keramik" label. If this is correct some of the very earliest Scheurich and Greulich ceramics might have been labeled with the "S&G" label.
Scheurich Labels 1954 - 1962
The first "Scheurich" label comes in two variants. One with a less curvy font and one with a more curvy font.
The earliest of these two variants is probably the one with the less curvy font. This label can be found on Heinz Sierys famous form 271 22 that was presented 1959. The label must therefore been used at least 1954 - 1959.
The later ”Scheurich” label was used until 1962. There are no indications that this label and the later ”Sheurich europ linie” labels were used simultaneously.
The labels comes probably in the same four colours as the "S&G" label.
Both variants of the ”Scheurich” label can be found together with a label ”handgemalt”. This label can also be found together with the "S&G" label.
Scheurich Labels 1963 – 1969
”Scheurich europ linie” was introduced 1963 and probably used until 1969, which was the period Franz Karl was the artistic director of the company (Horst Makus 2005). Two different fonts can be found on the labels during this period. At the early label has ”Scheurich” loops on both "h" and no hooks on the "S". The early label comes in 7 different variants and the later label in 5. The wide labels was usually used on larger vases. The exact time period for each label is not known.

Scheurich Labels 1970 – 1979
The purple label with ”scheurich” in white was probably introduced 1970 and followed after the ”Scheurich europ linie” label. There are no indications that these labels were used simultaenously. There are little information about how meny years it was used but Kevin James Graham (2010) mention that is was used to 1980. During this period at least three other labels were used: ”EUROP KERAMIK”, ”scheurich WERTARBEIT HANDGEMALT” and ”world line ceramic”. There are no information that more presicely determine during what years these labels were used.

Scheurich Labels 1980 – 1990
The labels that were used after the purple ”scheurich” label have a new Scheurich logo with three circles in white and red. There are two labels that both have ”W.GERMANY” or ”WEST GERMANY” printed so they were probably not used after the reunion of Germany 1990. The earliest of these labels is formed like a prism and comes in two colours, white and brown. The later label has the logo and ”scheurich MADE IN WEST-GERMANY” printed. A variant of this label has also ”handgemalt” printed. The exact time period for each label is not known.
Scheurich Labels 1991 - Present
The labels that was used after the reunion of Germany 1990 are transparent and has the logo with the three circles and the text ”scheurich Made in Germany”. Variants with the text ”handbemalt” and ”handpainted” also exists. These labels were used until 2000.
The present logo with three circles forming a flower shape was introduced 2001. Labels with the new ”flower shaped” logo are transparent and comes with several slogans.
1996 introduced Scheurich a new trademark – AMANO. AMANO can be found on both labels and bottom marks. The trademark AMANO was used until 2005 (email correspondence with Scheurich 2017).
(It is not the scope of this study to present labels after 1990 so there might exist more labels than presented here.)
